High School Program
On Tuesday morning, AIChE and the University of Illinois at Chicago Departments of Chemical Engineering and Mechanical and Industrial Engineering will be presenting a program for students at local high schools. The High School Career Development program will include talks by Jim Reilly of NASA, a VP at UOP, Alan Zagoria of UOP, and Dennis O'Brien of Jacobs Consultancy. Career Fair
Join us on Wednesday, September 26, from 2 to 4 pm, for a chemical engineering career fair organized by the Young Professionals Advisory Board (YPAB). Visit with employers such as Middough, GTI, Valdes Engineering, CITGO, and Jacobs Consultancy. The career fair is free with symposium registration.

Speaker: Jim Reilly, NASA
Jim Reilly, NASA Astronaut, began working at the Johnson Space Center in March 1995, and is qualified for flight assignment as a mission specialist. Initially, he was assigned to work technical issues for the Astronaut Office Computer Support Branch. Since then Reilly has served as the Astronaut Office lead on Shuttle training, and as Payloads and Procedures Operations lead for the Astronaut Office ISS Branch. Reilly flew on STS-89 in 1998, STS-104 in 2001 and STS-117 in 2007. He has logged over 853 hours in space, including 8 spacewalks totaling 47 hours and 3 minutes.
