AIChE Local Meeting: April 12 at Illinois Institute of Technology. The meeting will include the annual student poster competition and a talk from Dr. Eric Toone on "Electrofuels: ARPA-E and Innovation in the Biofuels Space."
Judges are needed for the student poster competition. Please email Alan at Alan.Zagoria@uop.com if you are willing to assist.

Directions: Attendees can take either the Red or Green Line to get to the IIT Main Campus. The Red Line stop is Sox-35th and the Green Line stop is 35th-Bronzville-IIT.

AIChE Social: March 26 at Navy Pier. Enjoy a lunchtime cruise aboard the Mystic Blue, setting sail from Navy Pier. The boat features several indoor decks with a DJ to supply a fun, casual atmosphere for dancing. The outdoor decks and plentiful windows provide the finest views of Chicago. After the cruise the city is yours – cab to the Magnificent Mile for window shopping, visit one of the world famous museums down Lakeshore Drive, or enjoy the other plentiful entertainment that Navy Pier offers. Northwestern University and University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign have developed a tiny camera that is excellent camera and features variable zoom.
This is an example of some excellent work going on at these two schools. Read about it here.
Engineers without Borders (Chicago Section) is having a fund raiser at the UIC Student Center East on March 4th. The Founder of EWB, Professor Bernard Amadei, is the guest speaker. There will be a silent auction. Click here to register.

Richard Rossi, Industry Segment Leader for Hydroprocessing, FCC and Heavy Oil product lines in UOP’s Process Technology & Equipment Business Unit, will present on the current state of the refining industry and upcoming challenges and opportunities.
